COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Aug. 8, 2016 – Global Market Development Center is pleased to announce Troy Beeler as its new vice president of member development. His role will primarily focus on expanding the association’s reach within the retail and consumer product industry in order to create the best global network of those in the health, beauty, wellness and general merchandise value chain. He will work in GMDC’s Nashville office.
Beeler was most recently the director of global clients for RetailNet Group (RNG), a GMDC strategic partner, where he managed global relationships with The Coca-Cola Company, Walmart and other Fortune 500 clients.
Prior to this position, Beeler was director of executive education and client development for RNG. He helped to launch the group’s Advanced Retail Strategy Program, an executive education program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management for industry leaders from North America and Latin America. He also assisted in initiating RNG’s Retail Innovation Series at MIT, an innovation program for industry leaders responsible for their company’s five- to 15-year outlook.
“Troy is truly the right person for GMDC and this position because of his extensive association experience — which is essential to the role — and deep knowledge of our industry and members,” said Patrick Spear, president and CEO of GMDC. “Troy brings global and international business acumen that aligns with the association’s vision for growth. We welcome him to our ecosystem of thought leaders.”
Prior to joining RNG, Beeler spent several years in Washington, D.C. with the Grocery Manufacturers Association, where as senior manager of sales and sales promotions he managed three member committees in the areas of reverse logistics, coupon promotions and sales agencies.
“In the trade association world, GMDC has always been a model of breaking the mold of what an association can provide its members,” said Beeler. “The association’s spirit is one of being a differentiator in the value it provides to members. My job is to expand GMDC’s reach to the right industry tier groups and to engage them in order to grow the organization.”
Throughout his career Beeler has been active in speaking at and participating in many conferences and industry events. He graduated from Towson University in Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in business administration/e-business.
